On A Much Happier Note...

I got to meet 2 of my heroes in the same month: Luke Temple and Andrew Bird. I even got to sing with the latter*. You can watch it HERE. (I watched it on my birthday)

I found out that Luke's new band, Here We Go Magic, are now touring! You should definitely check them out. This song is one of my favorites of Luke Temple's solo work:

Love,
p. ahn

p.s. Thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes--I read them all and they really meant a lot to me!

*I am acting way cooler about all of this than I really am.

  2. I'd be excited to hear a conversation between you and Andrew Bird, can't believe you haven't met him before now! You guys should have a "Dueling Loop-Station" showdown somewhere during that talk.

  3. Priscilla, thanks for sharing this with me. I always thought Andrew Bird was insanely talented, and it was awesome to see you two working together. I also must say this is a cool project that creates the intimacy that really shows your talent, similar to what you have done for blogotheque. Keep up the good work please!
ps. I am going to SXSW. Any plans to go there?

  7. Gosh, Priscilla, that Master of China song was recorded on my b'day. Happy b'lated b'day to you. I'm so addicted to your songs now. I think Blue Note is kicking themselves for not including "The Boob Song" on your album. It's such a fun song & am so glad you play it on your shows. I hope you never stop singing or writing songs.

  8. Awesome! I was totally hoping you and Bird would collaborate on something! I think he tends to pick really obscure songs by people he knows to cover for stuff like this (like The Giant of Illinois on Dark Was the Night) so it must have been hard to follow along. It's weird meeting a creative person you like in real life: They always turn out to be like normal people but you expect them to somehow be more than that, like superhuman or something... at least that's the case we me. /ramble rant

  11. Hi Priscilla!!

I have to make myself not come to your blog too much or I waste too much time looking at all your lovely photos! Which, however, meant I missed your bday! So, since you celebrate all month (I will definitely go along with it) Happy Birthday!!! And I'm not even late.

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. :) So ta-ta for now, continue enjoying, thanks for the restaurant recommendation for Cafe Habana, and let us know next time you are in NYC!!

    Love Bridget :)

  12. How lucky am I to be able to see two of my favorite artists sing together...

Also, your cover of Masters in China was the best thing I've heard in a long time. Thanks for the wonderful music.

  13. Dear Priscilla

I'm always a big fan of yours since I heard your the boobs song. I'm a senior in a high school in Taiwan and I'm doing a performance of your song, Red Cape. Hoping to let people to know your music, I'd like to give a brief introduction to this song. So may you tell me what's your motivation and intention of writing this song? Is there any stories behind it? Your reply will surely help me a lot! Keep up the good work. You got the greatest talents of all time!

  14. What a beautiful video. Love masters in China as well! Do you think there is any way you could post the tabs for it? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

    Happy Spring!

  15. Hi Joanne,

Red Cape was inspired from an afterthought of 9/11. But really it's more about being true to who you are, and staying grounded.
