I love... #1

Has it been that long since my last post??

Sorry I have been m.i.a. for a while. Since getting back from Asia I decided to not fight my jet lag and see what happens. I got plenty of sleep! But very little work done. Took a trip to Toronto for the Film Festival which was a whirlwind of movies and fun. And now I am gearing up for my U.S. tour!

Anyway, I wanted to share with you something I was recently introduced to by my foodie friend Monique -- Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Bar with Caramel and Sea Salt!!! (drawing above) Have you seen or tasted this thing yet??

When she brought it over for dessert one night, at first glance I was unimpressed. Ok... how is a single chocolate bar going to be dessert for 6? But then when she opened it up, and each person around me savored a tiny morsel, the sounds of complete orgasmic food pleasure -- the 'Oh my God!'-ing, and 'MMM'-ing, and 'Holy Sh*t'-ing, still had not convinced me.

Until I tried it myself.

I didn't understand. And I am ashamed to have been so quick to judge this beautiful chocolate bar of delight! It's filled with oozing caramel, OK? It literally explodes in your mouth. And the sea salt? Ok... so just trust me. Go try it! (Unless you're one of those people who hates chocolate. In that case, don't try it. You'll hate how awesome it is). It's so satisfying, 2 bites are all you need.

I'll be packing a few of these to take with me on the road.

Do you have yummy delights that you love and want to share with me for my tour? :D

love,

  2. I am in LOVE with this. Just discovered it last week and since it's gluten free, it's perfect for me! Glad you love it too. Have you had the seaweed snacks? Oh! And the chocolate covered toffee bits are delish as well.

  8. From the 'House of Anvers' comes 'Confectionary d'Anvers'. They elicit responses similar to those you mention. My favourite in the line is 'Truffle d'Anvers' :P

Ingredients include the genius of one Belgian chef, world's finest cacao beans and fresh Tasmanian cream and milk. All made in a Californian bungalow style house!

Alternatively, as you travel the nation, send out the peons on a hunt for local confectioners. You'll have an unique chocolate experience at every stop. Remember to keep the packaging and add them to your U.S. 2011 tour journal. Doing so will give you one map to help locate your country's 'sweet spot' :)
