First Day Of Tour

09.26

So, I woke up this morning with chapped lips because I turned the heater on last night to do some last minute hang drying of clothes for tour. Then I tried carrying one of my suitcases down the stairs to help ease the load on my husband (who is amazing and carries all my gear and crap up and down the stairs whenever I travel, which sometimes is once a month), and I pulled my neck. Then I got to the airport and realized I forgot my ukelele at home. Then I barely made my plane because the security line was so long. And finally, I had to check my carry-on suitcase at the gate because I was flying AirTran, and for those of you who aren't familiar with AirTran, well... I don't like them. Because this carry-on suitcase had all my fragile gear in it, I needed to take all that stuff out so it wouldn't brake. The AirTran assistant handed me a plastic bag to put my pedals in. I discovered that the plastic bag was 5 feet long. The bag was, literally, almost as tall as me. So I had a really good time carrying that around with me during my layover in Wisconsin.

All in all... it was not the smoothest of beginnings for the tour. But in the end, all our luggage arrived safe and sound, and my neck still stucks, but my uke should arrive by tomorrow.

I'm so excited to see familiar faces and meet new people at my shows! You can see a list of my tour stops here: http://priscillaahn.com/shows/

I am a firm believer in the old theatrical superstition, "A bad dress means a good opening night". I'm gonna go with that. Here we come Iota Club!!!

  3. Dear Priscilla, I am probably one of your biggest fan ever. I listen to your songs over and over and over. They help me get through so much and sometimes it's like they know exactly how I feel. I know you are super busy travelling, performing, writing and living your life but I was wondering if there may be any possible way you could help talk to IOTA about letting a 19 year old in to hear you play. When I heard you were playing in the area I was jumping up in down! I'm afraid of driving the hour and a half to see you and not being allowed in
because of my age. I've tried calling the club myself but I can't get a hold of them make an exception for a girl named Abby it would be too good to be true. I wish you the best of luck with everything! Love, Abby Barber

  8. That sure is a volley of errors P.
They surely can't be the result of nerves. Not with the beguiling repertoire you have in hand.
Best wishes to the Ahn troupe for the tour :)
