Went for a hike with my friend Emi.
Another view from the Griffith Observatory.
These trees look like Autumn, but those are actually some kind of blooms.
Tagged along to a friend of a friend's studio and met their really cool dragon lizard.
Stood on a rooftop and looked down on many other empty rooftops.
Bought some peonies!!! They're one of my favorite flowers.
I couldn't stop putting my nose into them, they smelled so soft & sweet!
Visited my friend Henry Diltz, who is a legendary photographer
and the most down to earth person I know.
He was signing a photograph of The Who that he took back in '67.
Went to see Patrick Park & Seawolf play at the Gene Autry Museum.
It was really crowded, and there wasn't really a stage, so I watched their shadows.

I'm leaving tomorrow for a fun week in Kaua'i! I'll be bringing my polaroid and taking lots of pictures! I will try to post some as I go, but I can't make any promises. A part of me is hoping I won't have to open my computer at all, except to get directions. :) Ok! I gotta start packing!!! Oy!

Much love to you from an IMMENSE fan of your music, who stumbled upon it with much glee; stumbling is the best way to find the best things.

what? I went to that same dodger game. It was such a sad game. =(
ReplyDeleteCan I just say I love your posts? And I love the fact that you live in LA! I listen to your albums or your pandora station all the time as I work (right now too!) and it is surreal to be listening to your "wallflower" song as I read your posts about areas that are a hop, skip and a jump away from me! Have fun in Kaua'i! Hope you catch some beautiful waves. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat photo that Diltz is signing looks really familiar! ty. - J :)
ReplyDeleteI was in the mood to listen to your music (it is particularly perfect for reflective moods) and I decided to check your blog while listening, as I haven't in a while. As always, I find all sorts of goodies to make me smile and laugh and wonder!
ReplyDelete- I loved your photo of Dodger Stadium as I am a huge baseball fan, especially of the LA teams, although I must say my heart is first devoted to the Angels as I lived in Orange County for many years.
- That is a spectacular photo of the downtown LA skyline, from Griffith Park I assume. Did it rain the day before? Rare for it to be so clear and smogless!
- Your photos of Mr. Diltz made me realized that, as much as digital cameras have empowered us and allowed many people to take amazing photos, there will always be a class of master photographers like him whose work is truly legendary. I mean, it's pretty hard to top something like signing one's own photo of The Who from 1967!!
- The last photo of the shadows made me smile because I can relate to being in a situation like that, in which we can choose to get mad or disappointed and fight the situation, or we can be content and make the most of it.
Okay sorry for the novel. Hope you had a great time on Kaua'i! Still hoping you'll do a concert in Honolulu someday, but I can understand if you don't want to work when you come to Hawai'i. Hey you need to get one of these iPads so you don't mind using it while on vacation. It's absolutely wonderful and will completely transform the way you think of your "computer". You can do fun stuff anytime anywhere, like listen to your music and check blogs, which is what I'm doing right now. :)
Aloha,
Robert
